The earliest mention of Glasbury is connected with St Cynidr, a Celtic saint and grandson of Brychan. He was buried in Glasbury and was the patron saint of the church.
Another mention of Glasbury occurs in 1056 when a battle was fought between the Welsh and the Saxons.
