HISTORY
The entry for Harlesone in John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England makes mention of a manor which belongs to Earl Spencer and with Harlestone Hall being a chief residence. The gazetteer also mentions traces of an old fort on Dylve's Heath.
Today, Harlestone House is no more. Back then, it was believed that Jane Austen used it as inspiration for Mansfield Park but the Jane Austen Society points out that there is no evidence of Austen ever being in Northamptonshire.
