History
The name of the village is said to mean “house near the stream Llwynog. In the past, Bedlinog was nicknamed “Little Moscow”, which owes to the relatively high concentration of communists in the village. During the 1930s, these individuals volunteered to travel to Spain to in the Civil War. The ethic of the Welsh socialist still remains in the village, as well as its neighbour Trewelis, from where similar communist volunteers fought in the same war.
