Flower Delivery Aintree Village Flowers with Clare Florist
Aintree Village with a population of over 6,000 people, is a civil parish and village in the Sefton metropolitan borough of Merseyside. Although the area is historically viewed as being part of Lancashire, it is recognised as being in Merseyside and lies less than 6 miles from the centre of Liverpool, one of the main cities in the north west of England. The village itself lies in between Maghull and Walton, located on the A59 Road.
It would be fair to say that the area is best known across the country for the Aintree Racecourse. Since the 19th century, this racecourse has been the venue for the Grand National, one of the biggest sporting events in the country. Even people who have no particular or great interest in horse racing are found to take an interest in the Grand National event. In the 50s and 60s, there was a three mile long racing circuit, primarily used of motor racing, which was located on the site, and which was served by the same stands that are used for horse racing events. A more compact form of this circuit is still present and in use today even though motor car racing was stopped at Aintree back in the early 80s.
The origins of the name of Aintree come from Saxon times, with the name believed to represent “one tree” or a tress that stands alone. The first recording of the name can be traced back to 1226 with various versions of the Aintree name appearing over the years. Many locals believed that an oak tree which was located on Bull Bridge Lane, and which was removed back in 2004, was in fact the “ain tree” from which the village takes its name from but this is a theory that is unlikely to be true given the origins of the name and how far back it goes.
The road that runs between Aintree and Liverpool is the A59 and at the section where it runs through Aintree, it is referred to as Ormskirk Road. Aintree is also home to an important junction called Switch Island, which lies between Aintree and Maghull, and this is an area where the A5036, the A59, the M58 and the M57 all meet.
Sending flowers to Aintree Village is a simple affair
There is an Aintree Railway Station, which is ideally suited for the racecourse but with respect to the village itself, the Old Roan railway station is the most convenient. Both of these stations are located on the Northern Line from Merseyrail and there is a regular service running between Ormskirk and Liverpool Central. Previous stations in the local area include the Aintree Central station.
There is a regular bus service running from the village to Liverpool, departing every 20 minutes, and there are other services running from the village to Liverpool and the North via many of the other villages in the local area. The village also plays host to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
With respect to parks and natural beauty areas close to Aintree Village, Croxteth Hall and County Park is probably the closest but there is also Antony Gormleys Another Place and Sefton Park within close proximity of the village.
