Flower Delivery to Bramshaw with Clare Florist

Lying just inside the New Forest National Park, Bramshaw stretches out for several miles along the B3079 road with the church in the north, the hamlet of Brook to the south and Stock's Cross in the centre.

Bramshaw Commons, which is owned by the National Trust, comprises about 575 hectares of manorial wastes and commons. It's also some of the best surviving examples of lowland heath in Europe managed by the common grazing of ponies, pigs, donkeys, cattle and sheep.

HISTORY

In the Domesday Book, Bramshaw appears twice for Wiltshire when it was held by Wulfnoth and a certain Edmund. During the time of the survey, Odo of Bayeux was overlord of the lands.

The manor of Bramshaw, along with that of Britford, may have been granted to the de Lacy family by one of the Norman knights during the 12th century. It was then sold to Robert Lord Hungerford in the 15th century. After the grandson of Mary Hungerford and Sir Edward Hastings sold the manor of Bramshaw in 1561, the manor saw different owners for the next 150 years. Eventually, it was purchased by Richard Paulet in 1713 whose family retained ownership until 1887.

Partly in Wiltshire and partly in Hampshire, the County of Southampton Act 1894 placed all of Bramshaw in Hampshire.
