Flower Delivery to Alsager, Chesire with Clare Florist

Alsager is a town and civil parish of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is bordered by several parishes on different areas, including Church Lawton to the north-east and east, Staffordshire to the south, and Haslington to the west.

What makes Alsager unique is that it has a lake in the centre. Used to be a focal point of the town, the isolated pool of Alsager Mere is only accessible by local residents with gardens that adjoined the waters, and by two fenced viewing areas provided for the public. But there's more to this town than its lake and gardens filled with flowers in Alsager.

The name of the town is believed to be derived from the terms Aella and acre of land that formed into Aella's acre, which later evolved into Alsacher and then Alsager. There is also a mention of Eleacier in the Domesday Book by Earl Hugh. Up until the 19th century, Alsager was a small farming village. It was because of the town’s rail connections that it became an ideal place for pottery works managed from the nearby city of Stoke-on-Trent, which was then called the Federation of Six Towns.

It was during World War II that the town expanded to include the influx of factory workers manufacturing large armaments. A camp called “H.M.S. Excalibur” was also constructed where the Royal Marines are trained. It became a refugee camp for displaced persons from various countries, including those that were forcibly joined into the Soviet Union.

In 1998, the town hosted its first annual summer carnival in the Milton Gardens, and then later moved to the Alsager School Playing Fields in 2009. In 2011, it hosted the annual Alsager Arts Festival for the first time. The Fairtrade Town status was awarded to it by the Fairtrade Foundation in 2007.

If there is anything that the town has plenty of, it would be natural wonders, which accounts for the abundance of Alsager flowers. There is the Alsager Mere and Northolme Gardens that provide varying panoramic view depending on the weather. The Cranberry Moss Nature Reserve, on the other hand, is located about a mile from the town centre and comes with a children’s playground. It also has an entrance leading to Coronation Avenue. There is also The Old Mill that has a mill pond where ducks and swans thrive. Other natural attractions are St. Gabriels, War Memorial, Milton Park, Car Park Play Area and Football Ground.

Along with these places are footpaths that make for an ideal walking and running trail. The Oakhanger Hall footpath starts at the end of Close Lane and ends at the entrance to the driveway to Oakhanger Aquatics, home of tropical fish.

The first Roman Catholic church built in town was of wooden huts and mainly attended by Lithuanians. There were Anglican churches and Methodist churches, which started as three and later become just one in 2009. Still, there are plenty of churches in Alsager, including Christ Church CE, St. Mary Magdalene CE, St. Gabriel RC, United Reformed Church, Wesley Place Methodist Church and Alsager Community Church.
