Flower Delivery to Easthampstead — A Quiet Suburb in Berkshire

Easthampstead
is a part of the town of Bracknell, located in Berkshire in South East England. The present-day area is a small suburb, but it actually was quite a large and important place in the past. Easthampstead might seem too quiet at first glance, but it's actually great place to visit if you want to escape the city's hustle and bustle and spend some time in a peaceful and relaxing place.

A Quick Look at Easthampstead's History

Archaeologists believe that Easthampstead had been settled during the Bronze Age. This is evidenced by a large round barrow on top of a hill, which is surrounded by a ditch that seemingly has been around since the ancient times.

Easthampstead was mentioned in the Domesday Book, which revealed that the place belonged to the Ripplesmere hundred, with the Westminster Abbey being its lord and chief tenant. It had a taxable value of 10 exemption units (which was considered to be a very large amount at the time), although it only had a population of 14 households.

The suburb was also mentioned in Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales, which was written in the 1870s by John Marius Wilson. It was noted as a “village, a parish, and a district” that was “rural and pretty”, with 5, 186 acres of land, 133 houses, and a population of 789 people. Wilson pointed out that the parish contained the village of Bracknell, which indicates its importance as a parish and denotes that Easthampstead was significantly bigger in the past than it is now. The area used to have its own rural district, which it eventually lost over time along with its status as a civil parish.

Easthampstead in Modern Times

Despite decreasing in size and importance, Easthampstead has not left the map. It may not be as popular as other holiday destinations in Berkshire, but it's still worth a visit particularly if you need to relax and de-stress.

You can just sit back, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the Easthampstead flowers in bloom during your weekend getaway, but you can also explore the local attractions. One of the places you should check out is Easthampstead Park, a Victorian mansion that was built in 1864 and has a 60-acre estate. Another is South Hill Park, which has a mansion that was originally built in the 1700s but has been remodelled and rebuilt over the years. The park is now an arts centre and contains the Wilde Theatre and the Bracknell Gallery. You may also want to visit Caesar's Camp, an Iron Age hill fort which, according to artefacts that were discovered there, dates back to the first century B.C.

Aside from exploring the local attractions, you can also send flowers to Easthampstead, particularly if you're visiting the area with your family. Greet your mum a happy Mother's Day with a beautiful bouquet, or surprise your wife with a dozen red roses on your wedding anniversary.
